Arlington has been called gateway to a number of things. We're the northern gateway to the Mountain Loop Highway and the southern gateway to the North Cascades. In short, Arlington is a gateway to many outdoor activities, especially fishing on the Stillaguamish, hiking in the foothills of the Cascades, and bicycling the back roads of Northwest Washington.

Arlington is halfway between Seattle and Bellingham, about 45 miles each way.
